Spatola Runner-Up in Weekend Stops at Farmer City & FALS!
(May 19, 2019) The Spatola Racing team invaded both Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois and Fairbury American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois for a pair of weekly shows on May 17-18. On Friday night in a $1,000 to win program at FCR, Mike Spatola III earned Fast Time honors during qualifying, finished second in his heat race, and later advanced up to second in the A-Main to trail only victor Allen Weisser. Mike Spatola III Advances into $10,000 Farmer City 74
(May 12, 2019) With Saturday's annual 'FALS Frenzy' at Fairbury American Legion Speedway in downtown Fairbury, Illinois succumbing to persistent afternoon rain showers, the #89 team entered one lone event over the May 10-11 weekend on Friday evening at Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois. A $10,000 top prize was on the line in the 'Farmer City 74' and a whopping 52 entrants piled into the pit area at the 1/4-mile fairgrounds facility. Mike Spatola III laid down the seventh fastest time in Group B during qualifying and later placed fourth in his loaded heat race. Following a triumph in his B-Main, Mike wound up nineteenth in the final finishing order of the 74-lap headliner. Spatola Lands Inside of Top Ten in $2,500 FALS Opener
(May 5, 2019) Mike Spatola III and his #89 team ventured to Fairbury American Legion Speedway in downtown Fairbury, Illinois on Saturday evening, May 4 for a weekly Super Late Model battle, which paid $2,500 to the winner and drew a stellar field of cars. Mike stopped the clock third fastest overall during qualifying prior to placing third in his stacked heat race. After starting the 30-lap feature event from the inside of the sixth row, Mike was able to move up inside of the top ten - eventually guiding his #89 Rocket XR1 car to a steady ninth place showing. Mike Spatola Sets Fast Time and Wins Heat at Farmer City
(April 27, 2019) The Spatola Racing team made a stop to Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois on Friday night, April 26 for a $1,000 to win weekly Super Late Model program. Mike Spatola III started red hot, as he set Fast Time in qualifying and won his heat race to earn the pole position for the main event. Unfortunately, Mike slipped over the banking early in the feature distance and was forced to rebound from the tail to salvage an eighth place showing. Spatola Racing Earns Top Ten in Chuck Hamilton Memorial
(April 14, 2019) Mike Spatola III and the #89 Spatola Racing team ventured to Peoria Speedway in Peoria, Illinois on Saturday evening, April 13 for the annual running of the 'Chuck Hamilton Memorial.' The UMP Super Late Model special boasted a $5,000 paycheck and drew a strong 23 car field. Mike laid down the third quickest time in his group during qualifying prior to grabbing the third transfer spot through his heat race. After starting the headliner from the inside of the fifth row, "Opie" wound up finishing inside of the top ten, as he crossed underneath the checkers in the ninth finishing position. Mike Spatola III Starts '19 Season in Annual Illini 100
(April 7, 2019) Spatola Racing invaded Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois on April 5-6 for the 12th Annual 'Illini 100,' which was once again sanctioned by the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series and kicked off the 2019 season for the #89 team. On Friday night in the $6,000 to win weekend opener at FCR, Mike Spatola III grabbed the fourth and final transfer spot through his loaded heat race and later wound up fourteenth in the finishing order of the 25-lap sprint. At the 1/4-mile oval on Saturday evening in the $15,000 to win grand finale, "Opie" finished eighth in his heat race and sixth in his B-Main, which unfortunately did not transfer him into the 75-lapper that was won by Brandon Sheppard.
