(August 18, 2019) The #89 team celebrated in victory lane for the sixth time in 2019 on Friday night, August 16 at Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois! After timing in fourth quickest overall during qualifying and placing second in his heat race, Mike Spatola III rolled off from the outside of the second row in the weekly main event. Mike then had a great race with Ryan Unzicker and Jason Feger before taking the top spot for good with around five laps remaining in the contest. Mike Spatola Improves Four Spots to Finish Seventh at FALS
(August 4, 2019) Spatola Racing was back in the pit area at Fairbury Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois for another 'FALS Cup' weekly event for the Super Late Models on Saturday, August 3. Mike Spatola III timed in seventh fastest overall during qualifying, but brake problems prior to the heat race caused him to start last on the grid in the prelim. Mike then rallied to finish third and later rolled off from the inside of the sixth row in the $2,500 to win main event. "Opie" was able to steer past four cars during the 30-lap contest to leave FALS with a steady seventh place performance. Spatola Seventh in PDC Qualifier; Narrowly Misses Out on 100-Lapper
(July 28, 2019) Next up on the racing calendar for Mike Spatola III was a visit to Fairbury Speedway in downtown Fairbury, Illinois on July 26-27 for the 30th edition of the 'Prairie Dirt Classic,' which was once again sanctioned by the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series. A total of 72 cars converged at FALS over the weekend for the mega-event that boasted a $30,000 winner's check. On Friday night, Mike knocked down the eighteenth fastest lap in Group B during time trials and later moved up to seventh in his $2,500 to win qualifying feature event. "Opie" then placed fourth in his B-Main on Saturday evening and fifth in the Non-Qualifiers Race, which unfortunately kept the Manhattan, Illinois racer out of the 100-lap PDC. (July 21, 2019) Mike Spatola III and his Spatola Racing team elevated their 2019 win total to three over the July 19-20 weekend with a pair of victories in the Land of Lincoln! On Friday night in the annual 'JR Kimler Memorial' at Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois, Mike earned Fast Time honors during the qualifying session, won his heat race in preliminary action, and later pulled off an exciting last lap pass on his cousin Frank Heckenast, Jr. to bag the $3,000 winner's check. "Opie" beat Heckenast, Jr., Jason Feger, Mckay Wenger, and Ryan Unzicker to the checkered flag at the 1/4-mile fairgrounds facility.

(June 23, 2019) Mike Spatola III and his #89 team headed to Hartford Speedway in Hartford, Michigan and Fairbury American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois on June 21-22 for a pair of Super Late Model special events. On Friday night in a $4,000 to win American Ethanol Late Model Tour (AELMT) showdown at Hartford, Mike placed seventh in his heat race and was involved in an early wreck in the 40-lapper before salvaging a steady ninth place feature performance out of the evening. Spatola Nabs Top Ten in Summer Nationals Opener at Kankakee
(June 16, 2019) The Spatola Racing team kicked off what was supposed to be a busy three-race weekend on Thursday night, June 13 in the DIRTcar Summer Nationals lid lifter at Kankakee County Speedway in Kankakee, Illinois. Mike Spatola III timed in fourth fastest in his group during qualifying and ran second in his stacked heat race before winding up eighth in the final finishing order of the $5,000 to win headliner. A $10,000 top prize was then up for grabs on the "Hell Tour" on Friday evening at Sycamore Speedway in Maple Park, Illinois and Mike grabbed the third transfer spot through his heat race before Mother Nature intervened and postponed the feature event to July 8. Saturday's action was also wiped out by inclement weather, as races at Fairbury American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois and Dirt Oval at Route 66 in Joliet, Illinois both rained out.
