Rallies for Pair of Top Tens in LaSalle's Thaw Brawl!
1, 2018) The Spatola Racing team returned to dirt-slinging
action on March 30-31 in the 7th Annual 'Thaw Brawl' at LaSalle
Speedway in LaSalle, Illinois. In Friday night's $5,000 to win
weekend opener, which was sanctioned by the Lucas Oil MLRA Series,
Mike Spatola III laid down the quickest lap overall of the 48
entrants to earn Fast Time honors before finishing eighth in his
heat race and third in his B-Main. After rolling off from the
inside of the ninth row in the 50-lap headliner, Mike rallied
past eight competitors during the contest to claim a steady ninth
place showing. On Saturday evening in the $15,000 to win 'Thaw
Brawl' finale, "Opie" ran fourth in his heat race prior
to winning his B-Main and advancing up to seventh in the 75-lapper.

Wild West Shootout
Nightly Results from Arizona Speedway
14, 2018) Mike Spatola III, of Manhattan, Illinois,
wrapped up the 12th Annual 'Wild West Shootout' tonight at Arizona
Speedway in Queen Creek, Arizona and was one of the 45 entrants
who signed in to the pit area to vie for the $13,000 windfall
in the miniseries finale. Down on power with a smaller motor,
Mike clicked off the eighth quickest lap in his group during the
qualifying session prior to finishing tenth in both his heat race
and his B-Main. Unfortunately, Mike was forced to watch the 50-lap
headliner, which was eventually won by Brandon Sheppard.

The penultimate contest of the 2018 'Wild West Shootout' miniseries
took place tonight at Arizona Speedway and another $5,000 payday
awaited the winner who stood tall in victory lane at the Queen
Creek, Arizona facility. Mike Spatola III qualified fifth fastest
in his group during the time trial session before running eighth
in his heat race due to motor issues and seventh in his B-Main.
Unfortunately, "Opie" was not able to crack the starting
grid for the 40-lapper, which was eventually won by Ricky Weiss.

Yet another $5,000 winner's check was up for grabs tonight in
the fourth round of the 'Wild West Shootout' at Arizona Speedway
in Queen Creek, Arizona. Mike Spatola III laid down the third
quickest time in his group during the qualifying session prior
to grabbing the third transfer spot through his heat race. After
starting the 30-lap feature event from the inside of the sixth
row, Mike moved up inside of the top ten and eventually wound
up tenth in the final finishing order.

Following a couple of days off from racing competition, the third
round of the six-race 'Wild West Shootout' miniseries took center
stage tonight at Arizona Speedway in Queen Creek, Arizona. A hammer-down
racing surface greeted the 45 Super Late Model entrants tonight
following a deluge of overnight rain in the Phoenix area. Mike
Spatola III stopped the clock fifth quickest in his group during
the time trial session prior to running seventh in his loaded
heat race. After grabbing the second transfer spot through his
B-Main, Mike improved seven spots during the $5,000 to win main
event to place twelfth in the final rundown of the 40-lap affair.

Night two of the 12th Annual 'Wild West Shootout' took place earlier
tonight at Arizona Speedway in Queen Creek, Arizona and another
$5,000 top prize was on the line. Mike Spatola III knocked down
the second quickest time in his group during qualifying and later
finished second in heat race action. After rolling off from the
outside of the sixth row in the 40-lapper, "Opie" drove
his new XR1 Rocket Chassis by four competitors en route to a strong
eighth place showing!

tonight in round one of the annual 'Wild West Shootout' at Arizona
Speedway in Queen Creek, Arizona. A strong 50 car Super Late Model
field assembled in the desert for the $5,000 to win opener. Mike
Spatola III clicked off the fastest lap in his group during the
qualifying session prior to slipping back to fifth in his stacked
heat race. After grabbing the third and final transfer spot through
his consolation event, Mike vaulted up to seventeenth in the 40-lap

Racing team will take delivery of a brand-new XR1 Rocket Chassis
by Brucebilt Performance very soon and plan to debut the new piece
during the upcoming 'Wild West Shootout' at Arizona Speedway in
Queen Creek, Arizona. Mike will enter the six-race miniseries
out west, which will be held from January 6-14 and will be capped

Spatola Closes Out
2017 Campaign in Gateway Dirt Nationals
17, 2017) The 2017 racing season concluded for
Mike Spatola III from December 14-16 in the 2nd Annual 'Gateway
Dirt Nationals' at The Dome at America's Center in St. Louis,
Missouri. A stellar field of 94 Super Late Models converged on
downtown St. Louis and things kicked off on Thursday night with
qualifying. Mike started his weekend by laying down the thirteenth
fastest time in Group B during the time trial session.
On Friday evening at the makeshift 1/5-mile indoor
oval, Mike ran fifth in his loaded heat race prior to winning
his B-Main. After starting seventeenth in the $5,000 to win preliminary
feature, "Opie" scooted past seven competitors during
the 20-lap sprint to garner a solid tenth place showing. On Saturday,
all eyes were fixated on the 'Gateway Dirt Nationals' grand finale
and the whopping $30,000 winner's check. Mike wound up third in
his consolation race, but that was unfortunately one mere spot
away from a coveted transfer position into the 40-lap headliner,
which was eventually won by Bobby Pierce. Full results from the

Seventh Triumph of 2017 Campaign!!!
22, 2017) Mike Spatola III and his #89 team celebrated
in victory lane for the seventh time in 2017 on Saturday evening,
October 21 at Kokomo Speedway in Kokomo, Indiana! Mike suffered
mechanical trouble in qualifying, but later blasted past seven
competitors during his heat race to finish second. After starting
the 25-lap headliner from the inside of the third row, "Opie"
led the final half of the unsanctioned 'Kokomo Klash' to collect
the $2,017 top prize. Finishing behind his #89 at the checkers
was Jared Bailey, Kevin Weaver, Adam Bowman, and Scott Fisk! Complete
