Spatola Racing Seventh in $12,000 FALS Frenzy Finale
(October 6, 2024) The Spatola Racing team made their way to Fairbury Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois on October 4-5 for the annual running of 'FALS Frenzy,' which was sanctioned by the MARS Racing Series. On Friday night in the $5,000 to win weekend opener, Mike Spatola III won his heat race and started the 40-lap feature from the pole position before running into mechanical trouble and finishing twentieth in the final rundown. With a $12,000 paycheck up for grabs in Saturday's finale, Mike ran second in his heat race and a solid seventh in the 50-lapper. Mike Spatola Wins at Sycamore Speedway for $3,000 Payday!
(September 22, 2024) Mike Spatola III celebrated in victory lane for the third time in 2024 on Friday night, September 20 in the 'Summer Sizzler' at Sycamore Speedway in Maple Park, Illinois! Mike went second quickest in his group during Dirt Kings Tour qualifying prior to picking up a heat race victory. After starting third on the grid in the 30-lap feature, "Opie" took the lead on lap seventeen and drove off from the field to win by 3.692 seconds. At the checkers, Mike was ahead of runner-up Mike Mullen, Nick Anvelink, Brett Swedberg, and McKay Wenger to bag the $3,000 first place prize money!

On Saturday evening, September 21, the dirt-slinging action quickly shifted to Peoria Speedway in Peoria, Illinois for the 69th Annual 'Illinois State Championship' race. Mike earned Fast Time honors during DIRTcar Super Late Model qualifying and later won his heat race in preliminary action. After leading most of the first 22 circuits of the 50-lapper from the pole position, the Manhattan, Illinois ace slowed from the third spot on lap 31. Mike was unable to finish the $5,000 to win contest and was ultimately paid for a disappointing sixteenth place effort. Spatola Racing Travels to Davenport for Short Visit...
(September 14, 2024) Following the 'World 100,' the Spatola Racing team ventured west to Davenport Speedway in Davenport, Iowa on Friday night, September 13. The Lucas Oil MLRA Series sanctioned a $5,000 to win throwdown last night on the 1/4-mile oval in the Hawkeye State. Mike Spatola III posted the fourth fastest lap in Group B during the qualifying session, but later suffered problems in his heat race to finish eighth. After passing four competitors in the B-Main to place fourth, Mike was unfortunately forced to watch the 30-lap main event that was ultimately won by Garrett Alberson. Mike Spatola III Invades Eldora Speedway for World 100
(September 8, 2024) The 54th edition of the ‘World 100’ took center stage from September 5-7 at the legendary Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio - starting with a pair of $12,000 to win, split-field preliminary programs. On Thursday evening, Mike Spatola III grabbed the sixth transfer spot through his Shootout race before winding up twenty-sixth in the final rundown of his 25-lap main event. In a similar show on Friday, Mike unfortunately missed out on the 25-lapper after placing twelfth in his Shootout race.

With a whopping $57,000 paycheck up for grabs in Saturday’s annual ‘World 100,’ Mike finished sixteenth in the final rundown of his loaded heat race and was not able to transfer into a B-Main or the 100-lap crown jewel headliner that was won in dramatic fashion by Bobby Pierce. Top Ten for Spatola Racing in Labor Day Weekend Finale
(September 2, 2024) After their two recent wins, Mike Spatola III and his Spatola Racing team invaded both Fairbury Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois and Spoon River Speedway in Banner, Illinois on August 31-September 1. A pair of $5,000 winner's checks were up for grabs with the MARS Racing Series at both Land of Lincoln venues. On Saturday at FALS, Mike ran second in his heat race and led the opening lap of the 40-lap feature, but problems on his #89 machine ultimately dropped him to a disappointing sixteenth place showing. After touring the Fairbury, Illinois bullring third quickest overall during Super Late Model qualifying, Mike Spatola III secured a popular triumph in his heat race. He then started the 30-lap 'Pappy and Bob Allen Memorial' from the pole position and controlled the race from the drop of the green flag. (August 11, 2024) Mike Spatola III and the Spatola Racing team invaded Sycamore Speedway in Maple Park, Illinois and Macon Speedway in Macon, Illinois over the August 9-10 weekend for a pair of MARS Racing Series battles. On Friday night at Sycamore with a $5,000 payday on the line, Mike won his heat race in preliminary action prior to placing second in the 40-lap feature behind only victor Ryan Unzicker. With a $10,000 top prize up for grabs on Saturday evening at Macon, Mike placed fourth in his heat race and later passed seven competitors during the 'Kerby Strong 100' en route to a third place podium effort behind only winner Jason Feger and runner-up Ryan Unzicker. Mike Spatola and #89 Team Venture North for USA Nationals
(August 4, 2024) Following last weekend's PDC, the Spatola Racing team rejoined the World of Outlaws CASE Construction Late Model Series schedule from August 1-3 at the renowned Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisconsin. The annual running of the 'USA Nationals' drew a 48 car field to the Badger State for the three-day, crown jewel extravaganza. Unfortunately, Mike Spatola III was not able to transfer into the pair of $6,000 to win preliminary features, along with the $50,000 to win grand finale on Saturday evening. Spatola Racing Competes in Prairie Dirt Classic at FALS
(July 28, 2024) Mike Spatola III and his #89 team was in the pit area at Fairbury Speedway in downtown Fairbury, Illinois from July 24-27 for a huge week of racing. The action started at #FALS on Wednesday night with a Castrol FloRacing Night in America Series showdown, which shelled out a $20,000 first place prize. Mike ran second in heat race action and later started the 50-lap feature from the outside of the fourth row. At the completion of the contest, "Opie" was paid for a twentieth place performance at the 1/4-mile bullring.

The World of Outlaws CASE Construction Late Model Series then roared into Fairbury over the weekend to preside over the annual 'Prairie Dirt Classic.' On Friday night during preliminary action, Mike knocked down the seventeenth quickest lap in Group A during qualifying prior to finishing twelfth in his $5,000 to win 'Prairie Dirt Showdown' semifeature. After running eighth in his B-Main and nineteenth in the 'Prairie Dirt Shootout' for non-qualifiers, the Manhattan, Illinois ace received a track provisional to start shotgun on the field in the $50,000 to win PDC on Saturday. (July 20, 2024) The #89 team competed with the DIRTcar Summer Nationals and MARS Racing Series on July 18-19 in a pair of special events in the Land of Lincoln. With a $6,000 top prize up for grabs on Thursday night in a rain-postponed "Hell Tour" show at Sycamore Speedway in Maple Park, Illinois, Mike Spatola III placed third in his heat race, but unfortunately slowed early in the 30-lap feature and was dropped to a twentieth place performance. Things went much smoother on Friday evening at Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois with the MARS tour, as Mike won his heat race prior to finishing sixth in the final rundown of the $5,000 to win headliner. (July 14, 2024) Over the July 12-13 weekend, Spatola Racing traveled to both Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois and Fairbury Speedway in downtown Fairbury, Illinois. On Friday night in a weekly program at Farmer City that boasted a $1,500 winner's check, Mike Spatola III timed in fourth quickest in qualifying and won his heat race, but unfortunately ran into issues during the 25-lap feature that dropped him to a disappointing eleventh place showing. At FALS on Saturday evening, a $5,012 paycheck was up for grabs in the annual 'Richard Craven Memorial.' Mike won his heat race and led the first twenty circuits of the 30-lap main event before finishing fourth at the checkers behind only winner McKay Wenger, Jason Feger, and Frank Heckenast, Jr.! (June 22, 2024) The Spatola Racing team invaded Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois on Friday night, June 21. A weekly program was on tap last night at FCR and a $1,500 winner's check was up for grabs. Mike Spatola III laid down the fourth quickest lap overall during the Super Late Model qualifying session prior to securing a heat race triumph. Unfortunately, a broken valve spring in the motor while taking the checkers in the heat race forced "Opie" to scratch from the 25-lap feature event. In a $1,500 to win weekly program on Friday night at Farmer City, Mike ran second in his heat race prior to placing a strong fifth in the 25-lap main event behind only winner McKay Wenger, Kyle Hammer, Taylor Scheffler, and Donny Walden.
